Commandos heartbreak in Houma.

After scoring 25 runs in their opener and first ever baseball game that kept the team up to the wee hours of the morning, your Commandos got up before daylight to travel to Houma for a double header. While putting up a valiant effort and decent offensive numbers, the Commandos dropped two tough ones to a hard hitting, veteran Covenant Christian team 14-4 and 16-3 both in 5 innings.

Head Coach, Murray Atkins said of the season so far, "Our boys did really well as a team coming together for the first time and playing as a team." When speaking about his team's performance on Saturday he said that his team showed no lack of skill but made some mistakes that come from not having played together for more than a couple of games and the Covenant Christian played like they've been together for three years.

AHSA director and assistant baseball coach, Spanky Arsement, said "Covenant Christian had some great hitters and overpowered us at the plate. They also had a very deep pitching staff."

All in all, the Commandos came out of the opening week 1-2 and scored 32 runs in 17 innings of play. Not bad for a first year team. It looks like the team has a lot of talent and with some more experience everyone is looking forward to a great season.
